Nowhere are hot utes more admired than in thriving south-east
Queensland. The Gold Coast and Brisbane are being redesigned and
built almost by the moment and hot utes prowl the streets showing
off the wares of the successful tradesman who are basking in the
building boom.
Why, some of the hot utes even carry loads, though that almost
seems to be the exception these days! Crazy isn’t it?
So it’s no surprise that this special edition Holden 60th
anniversary ute made its debut at the recent Brisbane ‘National
4x4 Show’.
Based on the great looking VE Commodore SV6 ute, the special
edition has Onyx leather facings on the seats, a sports steering
wheel, a six-disc CD player that can handle MP3 discs, and
built-in Bluetooth connectivity.
Pedals with a sporty looking alloy, drilled finish give the
60th Anniversary model a classy look. These pedals sit over floor
mats emblazoned with 60th Anniversary emblems. There are also 60th
Anniversary badges on the tailgate, so no-one is in any doubt what
this standout ute is all about.
This special Holden Commodore ute comes with a V6 engine and
has a recommended retail price of just $36,990 when ordered with a
six-speed manual gearbox. The five-speed automatic transmission
adds only $1000 to the rrp. Holden tells us the extras in this
special package are valued at about $2000, yet there is no price
increase.
The styling of the latest Holden VE Commodore utility is just
so right for the sporting side of this important market segment.
The big grille and lower air intakes tie together beautifully and
make just the sort of statement many a young, and not so young,
bloke wants to generate about their position in life.
