No French car company is more French than Citroen. Always sitting
at the forefront of automotive styling and frequently at the
cutting edge of technology, Citroen has a motto of Creative
Technologie.
Fortune doesn't always favour the brave and the iconic marque has
been in financial strife on more than one occasion because of its
refusal to do what others do. But Citroen survives to this day and
is celebrating its 90th year.
Citroen in Australia is offering special models for the occasion.
The super stylish Citroen C4 Exclusive with a turbo-petrol engine
and a four-speed automatic transmission is being sold for a
limited time with leather upholstery and satellite navigation at
no extra charge. Citroen normally charges $3700 for these items so
it's an excellent deal.
The manufacturers recommended list price of this special Citroen
C4 is $31,990 to which delivery and government charges have to be
added, these vary from dealer to dealer as well as from state to
state so please make your own enquiries.
These additional items complement an already strong list of
standard features, including 17-inch alloy wheels, foglights,
automatic headlights and windscreen wipers and a trip computer.
The C4 comes with six airbags and has a five-star safety rating.
Citroen's new technology also abounds inside the curvaceous body,
the most striking feature being the central hub of the steering
wheel. The hub remains stationary whilst the steering wheel
revolves around behind it. Thus keeping all the steering-wheel
controls in the same place all the time so that you don’t have
to fish around for them. Dare we say the Citroen's steering wheel
will one day be copied by every other car marque?
Also on the special edition list is the Citroen Berlingo van in
its long-wheelbase format. For $26,490, which includes all the
on-road costs, this version has many free extras tailored for the
working delivery driver – satellite navigation, USB and
Bluetooth connectivity, even a large rubber mat to protect the
floor of the load area.
Berlingo is almost car like to drive, with the sort of handling
and comfort levels you just don’t get from Asian
light-commercial vehicles. It's powered by a 1.6-litre
turbo-diesel engine that gives plenty of pep and is nicely
economical.
Get in fast for these special models as dealers are reporting a
lot of buyer interest.
